ABOUT THE FILM
Prince Lazar is one of the most significant historical figures in rich Serbian history, a character numerous myths and legends were created about, a character whose name is a synonym for freedom of the Serbs. Prince Lazar’s life and death became a myth over the centuries, a myth where people do not tell the difference between truth and fantasy, between tradition and historical facts.
Educational feature film PRINCE LAZAR follows life of prince Lazar Hrebeljanović from his birth and growing up on the court of Tzar Dušan over his wedding with Milica and his progress to the title of a prince, building of the Serbian capital of the time – town of Kruševac, all the way to the Battle of Kosovo.
The film stars Vojin Ćetković as older prince Lazar, Biljana Nikolić as older princess Milica, Miloš Đurović as young prince Lazar, Marta Bjelica as young princess Milica. Goran Dimitrijević is the narrator in the film. The film is part of Marko Marinković’s master thesis at History Department of Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad.
The plan of the author is to make a 45-minute film to be primarily used as a teaching aid in all schools in Serbia.

SYNOPSIS
The film presents life of Prince Lazar at the most important moments of his life since his birth to the Battle of Kosovo.
The plot starts with his growing up and getting a title on the court of Tzar Dušan. We follow his development as a soldier and dedication to his duties on the court together with his complete devotion to the Tzar. The film shows love relationship between Milica and Prince Lazar that leads to the blessing for their marriage given by the Tzar.
A part of the film is dedicated to building of the medieval Kruševac as the capital and strengthening of Lazar’s power in Serbia together with his wish to make Serbia a powerful state on the Balkans again. After successful defence from more and more frequent Turkish overruns, prince Lazar prepares himself for the final conflict on the Kosovo field.
